The Disney-owned WABC station in New York City is looking for an experienced newscast producer with the ability to connect with our audience! The ideal candidate must be a dynamic and compelling journalist and communicator who will coordinate all elements of daily newscasts. This team member will work collaboratively with producers, writers, directors, anchors, reporters, graphic artists, and other newsroom leaders. The applicant must demonstrate a full understanding of the powerful voice and responsibility broadcasters have to, and with, the communities we serve. This team member will produce for all platforms and dayparts including early mornings, nights and weekends.

WABC-TV Eyewitness News in New York City is seeking an aggressive, motivated and dedicated Producer who will oversee all elements for 7 On Your Side. Our producer must have experience writing/producing/breaking down complex consumer stories. They must be comfortable contacting both large companies and small business owners - to successfully advocate for our viewers in order to bring about favorable and hopefully swift resolutions. The successful candidate must work well with anchors, reporters, assignment editors, directors and graphic artists. Candidates for this position should have a passion for producing, writing and delivering news, highlights and features in a creative manner.

This is a full-time staff position. This position is covered under the by WGA-ABC National Agreement.


  • Craft daily newscasts and manage all aspects of the broadcast
  • Pitch story ideas daily
  • Communicate well with others in the newsroom when building shows
  • Collaborate with digital team members throughout the day
  • Write clear and compelling broadcast copy
  • Implement last-minute changes in high pressure situations

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years of experience producing at a local news station
  • Demonstrated ability to work under deadline pressures and work in a rapid, fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong editorial and production skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be flexible with working hours (late nights, overnights, holidays) and adaptable to change

Required Education:

  • High school degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Studio Production, Journalism, or related field
