Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University seeks an experienced professional to teach courses in digital strategy and multi-platform content. We seek a candidate to help develop and grow our digital media curriculum. Ideal candidates will have experience in digital storytelling areas, such as interactive and immersive media, data-driven content and strategy, social media strategy and analytics, search engine marketing, artificial intelligence, or data and analytics using common industry tools. Appointment length is three years, beginning 1/1/2024. Renewal parameters are determined by performance and department need.
The adherence to programmatic goals and curriculum objectives is required, as the school is accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC).
Required Minimum Qualifications:
For Assistant Professor of Practice:

Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field

Five years of professional experience in advertising, journalism, public relations or a related field
For Assistant Teaching Professor:

Master’s degree in communications or a related field

Two years of professional experience in advertising, journalism, public relations or a related field
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated professional experience in digital communication, such as interactive and immersive media, data-driven content and strategy, social media strategy and analytics, search engine marketing, artificial intelligence or data and analytics using common industry tools
Relevant digital certifications, such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Hootsuite Social Marketing, Meta, Hubspot, etc.
Demonstrated higher education teaching experience or training experience in communication or related field
Advising or mentoring experience in academic or professional settings
