North Carolina Public Radio WUNC is hiring a Digital News Producer based out of the Durham office.
The Digital News Producer creates and distributes news content on wunc.org and social media. The Digital News Producer develops story ideas, researches topics, conducts interviews, and produces meaningful content for WUNC. The Digital News Producer also aggregates and edits digital content created by other WUNC reporters and producers. The position is responsible for reporting and producing original stories for online publication and, on occasion, for broadcast.
The Digital News Producer reports to WUNC’s Digital News Editor and backs up that editor as needed.
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required, will accept a relevant Bachelor’s degree and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution. At least three years of experience as a journalist and/or digital news producer preferred.
WUNC is headquartered in the Triangle area (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) of North Carolina. It’s often rated among the top areas to live in the country. The ocean and mountains are just a few hours away. Salary and benefits are competitive.
