A program of KUOW Puget Sound Public Radio, RadioActive Youth Media is an award-winning radio journalism program for teens in the Seattle area and beyond. With the support of staff journalists, participants produce content for RadioActive that has won national Murrow, Gracie and PRNDI awards.
RadioActive is seeking multiple Mentors to work in our introductory, advanced, and community radio storytelling workshops for young people. This is a Non-Permanent, Hourly position and hours will vary.
Once hired, mentors will sign up to work in RadioActive workshops offered throughout the year. Pay range is $22-$26/hour based on experience. Must be able to work a varied schedule when required, including some evenings and weekends. Mentors are paid for prep and training in addition to program hours.
RadioActive Mentors mentor youth one-on-one or in small groups to produce multimedia content for KUOW’s broadcast and Web platforms, and support workshops and activities that introduce youth to storytelling, journalism, and multimedia production. Workshops take place both in person and online.
