WABC is seeking an aggressive, motivated and dedicated Producer who will oversee all elements for 7 On Your Side. Our producer must have experience writing/producing/breaking down complex consumer stories. They must be comfortable reaching out to both large companies and small business owners - to successfully advocate for our viewers in order to bring about favorable and hopefully swift resolutions.

This is a full-time staff position. This position is represented by covered under the WGA-ABC National Agreement.

Responsibilities:

• Craft daily newscasts and manage all aspects of the broadcast

• Pitch story ideas on a daily basis

• Communicate well with others in the newsroom when building shows

• Collaborate with digital team members throughout the day

• Write clear and compelling broadcast copy

• Execute last-minute changes in high pressure situations

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of three years’ experience producing at a local news station

• Demonstrated ability to work under deadline pressures and work in a rapid, fast-paced environment

• Detail-oriented with strong editorial and production skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Must be flexible with working hours (late nights, overnights, holidays)

Required Education:

• High school degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Studio Production, Journalism, or related field

The pay rate for this union role in New York is $132,500.
