Honolulu Civil Beat, a nonprofit public affairs and investigative news site, is looking for a reporter with a strong track record for turning out high-end enterprise stories to cover criminal justice issues in Hawaii.
This is one of our premier beats. Civil Beat has won multiple awards for its in-depth coverage of police accountability and corruption, prisons and other legal issues.
We’re looking for a reporter with a minimum of 3-5 years experience who can combine strong digging and data skills, source building and compelling storytelling. Knowledge of Hawaii, the most diverse state in the U.S., a digital mindset and multimedia skills are definite pluses.
