The Cape Cod Times, an award-winning daily newspaper in Hyannis, Mass., is looking for an experienced full-time reporter to take on a multi-town beat with eye for the big story. The successful candidate will have at least five years of experience producing content for digital and print audiences, with an emphasis on investigative reporting.
We’re looking for an aggressive and self-motivated journalist who will jump to cover breaking news, produce clean copy and hit deadlines, while sussing out what matters to readers as well as opportunities to uncover malfeasance and prompt change. This is a chance to swing for the fences and compete with national media on the stories of the day.
The candidate must be comfortable handling a variety of assignments in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, while being well-organized enough to simultaneously keep long-term stories moving forward.
The successful candidate must be a strong reporter and writer with energy, enthusiasm and a passion for journalism.
Daily newspaper experience a must. Digital and social media experience, demonstrated knowledge of public records law, and a track record of cultivating and maintaining great sources required.
Please submit a cover letter, resume and at least six clips of your published work to News Editor Patrick Cassidy, firstname.lastname@example.org
Deadline to apply is Feb. 14. Salary is commensurate with experience.
