WUNC Part-time Podcast Producer: Poetry Cafe

North Carolina Public Radio WUNC, the public radio station licensed to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is hiring a temporary part-time Podcast Producer for the show Poetry Café.

The Position:  The Podcast Producer will work roughly 20 hours a week to produce and support the weekly radio production of the show Poetry Café.  Working with the show’s creator/host, the producer will help plan show content, edit and produce content as part of a team that deliver a 50 plus minute show weekly for air on WUNC radio and possibly other stations.

The position will include the following specific duties:

• The Podcast Producer will be part of a team that edits interviews, live performances and other audio elements that make up the content of a weekly show. 
   
• The Podcast Producer will work with the host/creator to plan shows in advance of production. These duties may include booking guests, managing the production and logistics of on-site interviews at WUNC’s Greensboro studios and related tasks as assigned by the host/creator.

• The Podcast Producer will assist in post-production editing that could include on-demand or digital elements of the show including podcasts.

The Candidate: The Podcast Producer will have experience in the production of show or podcast.

Leading candidates will have:

• At least one year of experience producing an audio or video production.
• Demonstrated skill in audio editing, preferably with Adobe Audition.
• Demonstrated skill in conducting live or recorded interviews preferred.
• Demonstrated skill in booking guests and working with a set production schedule.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and meet deadlines working with materials from a variety of sources and collaborators.
• Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues effectively and collaboratively.
• Creativity and initiative.
