The Podcast Producer reports to the Content Director for North Carolina Public Radio WUNC. This position is primarily responsible for working with podcast hosts to produce locally generated news content for various station podcasts.
The Podcast Producer is responsible for supporting hosts and reporters with quality production for our news podcasts. This position is critical for the organization and our ability to share essential, trustworthy information with news consumers in North Carolina.
The typical work schedule for this position is 9AM – 6PM or 10AM – 7PM Monday to Friday with some occasional shifts on holidays or weekends.
A bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field.

Qualifications and Experience:
Three years’ experience as a journalist or audio producer.
Considerable knowledge of audio production equipment and editing software
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills
A familiarity with North Carolina, national and international issues is strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to work quickly and meet tight deadlines, working with a variety of sources and collaborators.
Experience creating and editing digital news content.
Experience with public radio fundraising preferred.
Ability to interact effectively with colleagues.
Experience transforming complex ideas into engaging storytelling
