Job Description:

Refinitiv Loan Pricing Corp (LPC), the world’s leading source of information on syndicated loans, is looking for a knowledgeable and motivated reporter to cover the US leveraged loan market. The Senior Correspondent will provide coverage for LPC, Eikon, and International Financing Review (IFR) Magazine, breaking news and writing analysis for all the Refinitiv's brands including real-time services and publications.


Borrowers rely on the US$1.2trn loan market to fund their businesses and back merger and buyout activity. The private nature of the market means that well-connected journalists are able to break exclusive news on new M&A deals and play a leading role in many of the biggest finance, debt capital markets, banking and regulatory stories.


We are seeking a flexible reporter with strong people and communication skills who can talk to senior bankers in the loan market and will be able to work independently to develop positive relationships and collaborate closely across teams on crossover articles.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactive approach to generating content written for expert and non-expert clients

  • Ensure a daily flow of information on new deals, pricing, terms and themes, is covered in an efficiently and timely fashion across the products

  • Break news on LPC and IFR’s real time services and Eikon

  • Exercise sound news judgment on what moves markets and why

  • Build and maintain close contact with US-based and foreign banks and investors

  • Contribute to LPC, IFR and the Eikon wire news and product sections


Essential Skills:

  • Experience of reporting, research or market experience covering or working in the credit market

  • Excellent writing and analytical skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and timelines

  • A self-starter and reliable reporter with a strong history of breaking news stories

  • Proven organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

  • General knowledge of financial markets and investment banking

  • BA/BS degree, Masters preferred (Economics, Journalism, Writing, Political Science), or equivalent experience
