The Department of Mass Communication is looking for a talented colleague to help us innovate and educate the next generation of communication professionals. The candidate will teach in our Integrated Marketing Communication and Mass Communication majors as well as in speech communication and film production.
We are ACEJMC accredited and offer professionally focused undergraduate programs in Integrated Marketing Communication and Mass Communication (with option to choose specific areas of emphasis in journalism/broadcast). We also participate in an interdisciplinary Digital Information Design major and offer minors in Communication Studies and Film & Content Production.
Teach courses in areas such as Public Relations (e.g. principles, writing), IMC (e.g. intro, senior capstone), Mass Communication (e.g. theories & research), Speech (oral communication); supervise & teach in the film minor (e.g. Introduction to Film Editing, Screenwriting, Film Production).
Supervise student internships.
Develop and teach a course in foundational skills for digital communication, including skills in digital content production, analytics and social media.
Participate in student e-portfolio and career development activities.
