Want to expose corruption and the systems that enable it? We’re recruiting a Senior Investigator to join our US Anti-Corruption team.
About Global Witness
We believe that many of the world’s worst environmental and human rights abuses are driven by the exploitation of natural resources and corruption in the global political and economic system.
Our mission is to campaign to end this and we do this by carrying out hard-hitting investigations, exposing the facts, and pushing to change the system. We are independent, not for profit, and we work with partners around the world in our fight for justice.
About the role
As a Senior Investigator you’ll have the opportunity to devote every working day to pursue leads and develop ground breaking investigations that will expose the corrupting, undue influence of corporate interests over the US political system.
You’ll work closely with a team of advocacy and policy and communication experts to launch an exciting new Global Witness campaign to address one of the biggest challenges undermining our democracy. Your investigations will support our efforts to shine a light on how corruption harms people across the country and to build support for passage of democratic and anti-corruption reforms at the federal and state level.
You’ll have significant experience in journalistic or investigative work and be confident in delivering desk-based and field research investigations using a variety of sources, data and relevant information.
Demonstrating the ability to work openly and collaboratively with other team members to achieve shared goals and objectives, you’ll also maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, particularly with sources and source material.
You’ll have excellent communication skills including writing, editing, producing a range of materials for a variety of audiences and public speaking.
