The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is seeking an innovative photo assignment editor dedicated to powerful imagery who will oversee the direction of our daily visual coverage. The key role of the editor will be developing assignments -- in collaboration with photographers, reporters, editors and web designers -- that produce compelling photos and videos for our print and digital platforms. The candidate must have impeccable news judgment. A self-starter with excellent communication skills is highly valued as is someone with a proven affinity for engaging with social media platforms. Dexterity with Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Photo Mechanic is required. Experience supervising a team of visual journalists is preferred as is knowledge of AP style captions and copyright guidelines. The candidate must be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as we expand our digital platforms. An online portfolio is required to apply. Send a resume, cover letter and online portfolio link/url information to Rebecca Droke, assistant managing editor/visuals, email@example.com. We will start looking at job applicants' portfolios the week of July 30.
