WISC-TV/Channel3000.com, Southern Wisconsin’s number one station and digital source for news, is looking for an experienced meteorologist who can deliver accurate, engaging, and comprehensive weather forecasts for our hour-long television newscasts at 4:00pm and 9:00pm. Our ideal candidate will have 2-3 years’ experience as a television meteorologist, with a preference given to those with a degree in meteorology and professional certification. Creativity, flexibility, and an interest in digital and social media is a must.
Here are a few things you’d be signing up for:
- Prepare and deliver urgent, compelling weather forecasts and presentations that connect across television, digital, and social platforms.
- Aggressively handle severe weather coverage with a priority on clarity and urgency.
- Innovating and experimenting with the latest technology in digital. We’d love someone willing to share their ideas on how we can continue to enhance our weather presence in digital and social.
- Becoming an ambassador of the station through active engagement with our audiences at personal appearances at community events

- An open mind and a passion for great weather forecasting
- Ability to communicate clearly and calmly during severe weather events
- Ability to work under pressure and swing tight deadlines
- A valid driver’s license and good driving record
- BA/BS in meteorology or related field
- Professional meteorology certification a plus
