The Associated Press seeks an account manager for its New York City headquarters.
The Account Manager is responsible for day-to-day success of digital markets accounts including collaborating and leading cross-departmental teams working on those accounts. A pro-active problem solver with the ability to strengthen and grow existing accounts will succeed in this role.
The individual must be tech-savvy with a strong interest and knowledge of digital media combined with a dedication to improve customer relationships. The account manager will work closely with leading technology companies like Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Amazon, Microsoft and Google.
The most successful candidates will develop a deep understanding of AP’s global news operations, how the company is organized around the world and learn about AP’s diverse products and services. The ability to build strong relationships with key leaders across the organization is required.
- Assist with all levels of account service
- Manage complex projects and keep them moving forward
- Provide customers with frequent updates and track development of strategic opportunities
- Host regular meetings with customers and develop a solid understanding of their needs and how companies integrate AP content and services in their platforms
- Maintain a thorough understanding of AP’s products and services
- Maintain account data via Salesforce
- Organize multiple projects, with multiple participants into structured productive tasks
Key attributes include strong adaptability, excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to work both independently and in a team environment, and the ability to successfully juggle multiple tasks and priorities.
Highly motivated and interested to keep up with changes in digital news platforms and social media. Proactively monitor trends in social media technologies, tools and applications.
The account manager will organize and work closely with cross-departmental teams from editorial, products, operations, technology, finance and legal.
Some travel is required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English language is required.
Authorization to work in the United States for any employer is mandatory.
